Interview Tips: Tired of being nervous in interviews? Try these 3 tips!
Do you get really nervous before an interview? You are not alone. Chances are you have a lot to offer, you may just not be good at selling yourself. Which makes sense, you chose a career in accounting, not marketing or sales.
3 Tips
Here are 3 quick tips for you as you prepare for your interview. Notice I said “prepare”. Everyone should prepare for an interview.
- You need to use your words. Stay away from one-word answers and give information on your story. When you are dealing with situational questions, remember who what when where and how. Have a beginning and end to your story.
- Take the time before hand to think about what you do on a daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis. Write it down and bring it to the interview (to glance at, not read).
- Stick to the facts. You are not bragging or selling, you are only conveying information about what you have done in your current role.
Final Thoughts
One final thought, there is a difference; you need to practice your answers out loud, not in your head.
Good luck with your interview!
