3 things to do right now if you are hiring!
Do you need help hiring talent for your accounting and finance department? You’re not alone. And we predict this continuing for the rest of this year. Here are 3 things you could be doing right now to get the candidates you want on board.
1. Be aggressive.
Go out and get the candidates that you want. I’m sure even companies like Google have to do this right now.
2. Move fast.
Go from resume submission to offer all within one week (1 day) if you can. You might only have one candidate to choose from. If you like that person, hire them. Don’t wait for somebody else to come along.
3. Communicate.
I know H.R. departments may not approve of this, but if you like a candidate, let them know. There is no harm in saying, “Hey, the interview went well. We like you, and we’re moving along in our process”. You can also provide insight into the rest of the process and the timeline to expect.
Note that communicating a timeline does not allow you an excuse to drag out the process.
Try these three things, and you will be closer to hiring the candidate you want. Or we do this every day for our clients. Contact us if you are interested in having us help you out.
